Fancy fence by maggiemae

Fancy fence

As usual waited for a photo to arrive. Driving past on this street we noticed a really different hedge/fence/? Its a modern house built amongst a lot of old ones but overlooking the beautiful Oamaru harbour. Its not glass, I think!
Apologies to the hazards people who had placed a ribbon around this fence - I removed it!
Three Good Things:
1. It was hot again today - 23degC - not normal but Oamaru had the hottest temp in NZ today.
2. Planted some free sunflower seeds and watered! Last years free ones never got past GO!
3. Some pills work - eventually - back problems again and there was a lot of groaning (from me!) but with anti inflammatories taken early in the day and gin and vermouth, much later, I was a normal person! Mind you John and I had a great conversation - - about wheelchairs and memory loss! LOL!
This is so very cool and unusual. Beautifully processed, too.

I love those daisies or are the dandelion clocks, is this what the new fencing in NZ looks like? Why had it got hazard tape round it...is it not finished yet?
Keep taking the tablets! I have been checking travel insurance tonight for our trip....I nearly fell off my chair, over £900 at one company, £600 at another & two or three of the others don't do more tha 31 days! I wouldn't mind if we were doddery but we are as fit as fleas! I will keep searching!

wonderful fence!
September 16th, 2015
I believe I have seen something similar to this. Used as a windbreak or privacy screen. Nice shot. Nice fence too!
September 16th, 2015
@happypat Don't know what the flowers would be - just a decoration, I would think. They had hazard tape around the outside lawn as it had just been planted - so people wouldn't walk on it. Good thing we can search for good travel deals. We get automatic travel insurance if we pay for our trip using mastercard! Well, we did but now with John's heart condition we might have to pay up to NZ$1200!
September 16th, 2015
@janiskay The house is very close to the street, Janice so this would be what it was for -privacy screen but still lets the light in.
September 16th, 2015
@maggiemae Well we will travel without it if necessary. Staying with family is a little different than going to a country where you know no one. If we due they can bury us in the garden!

Die!!
September 16th, 2015
Neat find and capture...interesting fence design
September 16th, 2015
@happypat @happypat the "u" is next to the 'i' on the keyboard so easy to work out! Will stick with due!
September 16th, 2015
Very cool, great find
September 16th, 2015
LOL! I simply LOVE your commentary and 3 good things!
And you go girl for removing whatever it was around this ... erm .. interesting ... boundary type thing!
Yay for anti inflammatories! I'm living on them and painkillers as well!
September 16th, 2015
what a beautiful fence . Flowers year around and no watering or weeding. I sure hope these sunflowers ends up in your project. crossing my fingers
September 16th, 2015
Wonderful screens! I would love these down the side of my garden to hopefully block out the children next door bouncing on their trampoline! When we sit outside all we see are these heads appearing up and down looking at us over the fence! Lovely children but I would like some privacy - these screens look perfect for the job!

That's really pretty
September 17th, 2015
Looks great, especially with your treatment.
September 17th, 2015
Very fascinating fence indeed! When you say you removed the hazard tape do you mean photographically or physically? I'm thinking you're late in the day libation probably help to you as much as your early in the day pills!
September 17th, 2015
That's a fun and creative fence! Nice shot!
September 17th, 2015
I would love a fence like this on the front of our property!! It runs along the road and it would be pretty and cut back all the dust from the gravel road!! Really cool and different fence! FAV!
Sorry you have so much pain, I know what that's like!!! I am allergic to pain medication so I just suffer!
September 17th, 2015
What a fun fence. Is there a pool behind it? I'm glad the pills/alcohol combo worked for your back. Nothing worse than living in pain.
September 17th, 2015
I love this fence. I've seen similar walls inside airports. Great image and processing.
September 17th, 2015
Super cool fence. I would love to have one just like it. Like the reflections in the fence too.
September 17th, 2015
@grammyn I removed it with cloning, Katy - you can do so much with cloning - remove wrinkles, double chins, fat tummies, lol!
September 17th, 2015
@kwiksilver I did it photographically, Gillian - it was put up to stop people walking on a newly laid lawn! Thanks for your enthusiasm!
September 17th, 2015
Great job of editing out the unwanted tape! Love the fence!
September 17th, 2015
I'd like a fence like that.
September 17th, 2015
This is really classy! Wonderful processing and composition.
September 17th, 2015
Good eye, Maggie!
September 17th, 2015
I would happily have such a fence, much nicer than a brick wall or horrid vibacrete! I hope your sunflowers grow
September 17th, 2015
What a creative fence, cool processing too.
September 17th, 2015
This is quite a fence! Very striking.
September 17th, 2015
Fascinating fence Maggie. Keep popping the pills but more importantly keep drinking the gin!!
September 17th, 2015
How very unusual! A real conversation piece, I feel sure.
September 17th, 2015
This looks a lovely place. Strange what one can get used to.... 23C sounds a wee bit on the cold side to me now, after being in the tropics for so long.
September 17th, 2015
@leananiemand 23c is hot stuff here Leana at the end of winter! I like the temperature of 11deg for nights - good for sleeping!
September 17th, 2015
@thistle I'm still drinking Joyce and now I've fallen off my chair and am lying on the floor imagining untold stories from shadows on the ceiling! Just kidding, of course!
September 17th, 2015
This is very beautiful. I love the daisy and dandelion design xx
September 17th, 2015
Great find and shot
September 17th, 2015
Creative idea for a privacy fence! Hope your back gets better soon. At least you remember your conversation about memory loss!
September 17th, 2015
Great shot.
September 17th, 2015
Lovely capture and processing, interesting fence but quite neat.
September 17th, 2015
Lovely perspective and lines here... very dramatic. Sorry about your back... hope the gin helps. ;)
September 17th, 2015
This is a really lovely wind break.
September 17th, 2015
Well spotted. Someone was very artistic and creative.
September 17th, 2015
the fence looks good and fits this modern building. wonder how expansive something like that would be and where to get them. I can't help myself reading all your conversations on this page. LOL. when it comes to travel insurance, both of us aren't insurable anymore..so they say!. traveled to Mexico beginning of the year with insurance. taking a big risk with my heart condition though.
September 17th, 2015
how unusual, great capture. chin-chin
September 17th, 2015
@bruni You have been to the specialist now, Bruni? I have gathered that if you have been stable on medications for 1 year you can be insured. Some friends of ours, he who has had a triple by pass were not accepted for the States!
September 17th, 2015
@maggiemae My medication has changed since my last appointment and also they told me I'm taking too many meds to be insurable. so it's either staying home or taking the risk. life has to go on without insurance, I'm afraid. thanks for thinking about it.
September 17th, 2015
What a great fence to find and photograph. Hope your back and John's cough get better
September 17th, 2015
It's rather attractive and makes for a nice private courtyard I imagine.
September 17th, 2015
@snaphappi The house is so close to the street so now people can't see in the windows! A great idea and would have lovely silhouettes with the light!
September 17th, 2015
@maggiemae ... and it suggests a garden without all the bother of planting and maintenance - good find.
September 17th, 2015
Great comp and pov. There is a fence a bit like this in Edwards Gardens here in Toronto, though it doesn't have flowers on it. I think it is glass, but of a very tough kind.
September 17th, 2015
Wow - I love that sky for a backdrop.
September 17th, 2015
@scarlett33 thanks Quinn - it was one of our superb 'end of winter' days - blue skies and warm temps!
September 17th, 2015
it is indeed maggie
September 17th, 2015
Lovely capture.....and what a lovely windbreak (?) Nice reflection on it.
September 18th, 2015
Fav! Never seen this before.
September 18th, 2015
Great looking fence.
September 19th, 2015
gorgeous!
September 19th, 2015
What a gorgeous fence!
September 23rd, 2015
Love this new fence, and the cheerful flowers depicted on it that will be forever blooming!! It makes for a great wind break and privacy screen with its etched finish. I hope it is acrylic and not glass as it would not only cost a lot, but could also be easily damaged if some idiot were to throw a rock, or a car would crash into it!!
