My last posting involved a problem about the title of my book about to be published. My two sisters stated it wasn’t authentic and I should be telling truths instead of ‘lies’ ( they didn’t exactly say that word) Its a bit involved and I just loved the comments that evolved from all here- people who had experience as well as sincerity. However I have to find another title in order to preserve the peace. I have actually had a suggestion from Sally @salza - "A Mother's Memoirs" that we like!
Three good things:
1. Blossom is fastly appearing on our biggest tree and the sky beyond made a great background.
2. I grabbed a hanging basket of pansies who had all decided to look at the ground - no water so dumped them in a bucket quickly
3. Being very tired is good - bed is so welcome.
Well I admire your peace keeping efforts & the new title is better I think....more concise & it rolls off the tongue nicely...nothing is worth falling out over specially at our ages maggiemae! You will be tired out with all the shenanigans! Lovely bonfire type picture here....
@grammyn I have taken a lot of what people have said on board here, Katy and have got strength from it! I also like to be in control of something that is my creation even though its a diary! If they saw the mess of handwriting and crossings out in that diary that I had to work out, they might agree that its my work!
Beautiful shot, Maggiemae. I like the title suggested. I agree with comments above and keeping the peace. Nothing like family and their not so welcome input. FAV
@maggiemae You are very welcome, Maggiemae. I know how it goes too well. I have two sisters that sound much like yours. I try to keep peace. You worked so hard and should have rights to the title.
@darsphotos The two of them have been always finding bad things to talk about my mother and I kept on with the good things. It has been a long constant struggle but now that this book about her is going to print - they are both locking on to having a part! Hmmmm!
Sometimes adversity (even in the form of criticism) brings out a better quality creativity from us. I think you have found a great solution to your dilemma- so bravo to you! Also you have captured yet another lovely sky. It's been a good day for Maggiemae!
Love this capture Maggie, it seems to breathe "spring", just as everything around here just now breathes "autumn". That sky is full of light even though it's cloudy! Glad you seem to have reached a compromise on the book's title.
@eyesmile I transcribed my mother's diary when she journeyed to Britain in 1929, Gena. It made fascinating reading but was a heck of an amount of work getting the grammar right, let alone trying to decipher the handwriting!
This is a wonderful image with an absolutely gorgeous sky! Beautiful to see the buds coming out on your trees!
Good idea on the title and if the "sisters" don't like it, tough you know what!!
magical capture
