Stopping on the northern coast in NZ another night as the water lapped quietly at our feet. It was a tidal harbour and in some parts it was not swimmable with mangroves and other parts, golden sand and light waves making it popular in the summer.
Three good things:
1. Got this tidal stream from a bridge in the surrounding countryside. The bush had lots of tree palms and pokekos with chicks!
2. The motorbikers were coming through in their dozens - off to a major ride up from Waipapakauri northwards. 1000’s attend! We are going the other way!
T3. his guy pulled up at the beach beside us and tried valiantly to get his dog to jump out of his 4x4. The dog lay on its back and obviously said, “I don’t want to go walkies — you go by yourself! The Master gave us an embarrassed look and tried once more to use reason - he talked to him!
@happypat Primitive is an apt word - it is as it was when the first person had to hack his way through this bush after landing on the shore! Probably even had to go to Mitre 10 to buy a chainsaw!
Great story with the dog...obviously, not in the mood for a walk, or maybe that was not his favorite place for it!! This looks like the swampy areas in Louisiana, you know alligators and mangroves and all! You really brought out those tones and the reflections are wonderful!
