Today was Book Club day and as usual we met at one of the member’s homes. The topic seemed to be Churchill and his impact on World War events. Various books read by some and remarked on.
Three good things:
1. On the way home I took this photo in the country looking across fields to the rain clad hills. There were several golden fields that were the result obviously of spraying prior to ploughing.
2. My published book was greatly admired by the book club - ‘fancy knowing a real author’ they said! ahem!
3. I’m back on track looking for a new photo each day!
i like the image of 'rain clad hills', so romantic. this is a beautiful photo, maggiemae. the layers of colours and textures are spectacular! great shot!
This is gorgeous country side maggiemae. I just posted Williams Christmas parcel today so was thinking of your area. It's good to see the type of countryside. William lives at 303 Kaik Road do you know it at all?
So busy commenting I forgot the rests, yes. Proper author in your own right, I hope they are honoured to have you.....first pick at the biscuits I say!!
@maggiemae I was published back when I was in 5th grade...the whole class was. I still have my book. One day, I'd like to be really published. Anyway you do it, it's cool. Is it available for purchase? Where can I find it?
@maggiemae I thought it was about that distance, I think he comes into Oamaru plenty of times for the Fire thing. He's been on lots of outings with the fire brigade.
Lovely layers in this serene landscape... how great to be a published author, even if you had to do some "self help" to get there. :) We were just in Churchill's underground war room, from where he directed the war effort... fascinating!
@amandal It's called "A Mothers Memoirs", Amanda and my name as the author is "Margaret Jessie Munro'. Available on Balboapress.com.au and Amazon too. You have to wiggle your way through to the right bookstore!
@grammyn Nope, Katy - they didn't even ask if they could buy one! Guess if I had a book signing and launch they would but I'm to nervous of being in the limelight for that! And better in the cough department but now my back has gone out again! Ah woe! There are others worse off!
Beautiful layers! I am enjoying your book Maggiemae! So interesting! I have been a bit distracted these last few weeks with buying my new laptop and too tired to read when I go to bed which is when I normally read. Hopefully now I have the computer I can stop thinking about it and get back to my reading!
I feel as though I am sitting on the crest of that hill, my arms wrapped around my knees, hugged against my chest. There is little breeze and the distant sound of birds is hypnotic. This is the perfect place to sit and write for a spell. I'll join you.
Gorgeous layering and vistas!! Glad to know it made it to TT... have not looked there, or on 365, for a few weeks now, but found out about it from the comments above! So totally deserving! And, here is another FAV from me.....late as it may be!!
