In a remote cabin in the Canadian wilderness, I sat outside on the deck and watched this sweet wee chipmunk eat some popcorn.
There are all sorts of wildlife here - saw a turtle on the road, there are squirrels and humming birds, bears and beavers!
Three good things:
1. Insect repellant
2. Meeting my charming 9mth old granddaughter for the first time.
3. A big hug from a big son!
@seattlite No 1 is so necessary, Gloria - the black flies are everywhere and they bite chunks out of you, inject a anti coagulant and you bleed! Good grief!
sweet capture!
I react very badly to bites, it can make a trip quite miserable, but I've been enjoying very much, your recent diary entries about your visit to Canada
Great capture and how wonderful to see your family. It is hard when they are so far away. You are welcome to flies. They seem to find me particularly attractive for some reason and always manage to find the one spot I missed with the insect repellant!
I had to check the top to see if this was you! So long since you had land based garden photos I thought it wasn't you! You are staying at a beautiful place by e looks of it & so good to have time with your loved ones again. Treasure every moment!
FAV. Congratulations on the PP dear girl. I know you must be ecstatic to finally meet that granddaughter too. I'm certain that she was just as thrilled to meet her grandmother.
What a lovely little creature to be able to sit and watch, although I wouldn't be too sure about bears. Great that you are able to meet your Granddaughter at last.
that's one excellent shot of this little critter. insect repellant rocks! i have a stash of them when i go out in the summer - lotion, spray, cream and if all else fail, a swatter! are you not allowed to photograph and post baby's picture? if you're tired of being a nice mother-in-law, you rant at me. i can take all kinds of MILs. :-)
Aren't chipmunks adorable? Lovely capture of this one. So glad you have finally met your new granddaughter and are having fun with your family. As this (May 31st) is my last day as a regular contributor to the Project, I'd just like to say that I have enjoyed your work, and am grateful for your support of mine. All the best to you and your family, and also to Yolanda and Mr. Man ...:)
I love your photo, Maggiemae. More so I am happy to hear that you met your granddaughter and got a big hug from your son. Nothing like family. Sounds wonderful. FAV
How wonderful to finally meet her, and to see your son again! Know exactly what it is like - our son spent 12 months in Toronto with his family including Evan who was very wee when they went over. We visited them for 2 weeks and had such a special time. Enjoy!!
