The annual Beach Race is always a worry about weather but this time, the temperatures rose as did the wind but that wasn’t a problem unless you had your camera right in the wind with sand flying!
Three good things:
1. All day to find out what is happening in this most southern town and it was all good.
2. The tide was agreeable and didn’t envelope the riders like in the past years.
3. A quiet moment inside after the continued roar of the gale force winds!
What a thrilling sport - all the roaring of the engines, and sand thrown as they speed away ! A great action shot love the smoke coming from the exhausts Reminds of mt teenage years when my cousins , friends and I used to go to watch the local motorbike hill race at home in Wales -- a day of picnics and hoping the bikers would chat to us !! ha ha !!
@tonydebont No, they all spread out and get really going fast - until they have to go round the post and then back up the beach. They do tend to fall off at times!
Great action shot full of movement and drama at the race start, beautifully captured with lovely colour and clarity, I see Guy Martin (8) almost missed it:)
@thistle This way you could see the sandhills where the people watched but from the other end looking down the bikes, you could see the wild waves of the ocean!
