There is a dryer here but its not properly installed yet so the winds of the south west blew my washing dry today! A real old fashioned washing line!
Three good things:
1. Dropped my lens cap into a stream full of writhing eels today! The good thing was it floated and we were able to catch it downstream!
2. A full moon did not tempt me from my comfy bed.
3. Avocados grow well here along with olives and grapes.
I delightful row of coloured pegs! This is the more common type of washing line here in the UK. I have anAustralian one which us fantastic & so strong but I haven't seen another like it in the UK ( we have two actually) we see less & less washing hanging out these days. If you're out at work all day so with dodgy weather it's not always easy leaving washing out all day. Eels terrify me, there were some very large ones at the Nicau cafe last time we were there a couple of years ago, they were very aggressive coming up to nip your toes & fingers.
Pretty view! Yikes on the writhing eels- no way I'd even go near that stream! But I'd get out of bed for the full moon. And it also sounds like there is some good eating in your future.
What a lovely nostalgic old fashioned scene - the washing line with all the colourful pegs except in the olden days they were just plain wooden pegs ! So good to have the south western winds to blow dry your washing . Some stunning clouds in the sky - I hope it didn't turn to rain !!
The best line out... I have one of these clothes lines and it gets your washing dry in no time... I use to catch eels when I was a kid but not so keen on them now ..
This makes me think of my grandmother! She had a clothesline that had a prop stick just like this one, however her clothes pins were not nearly as colorful! A beautiful photo against the green.
How fortunate you caught your lens cap down stream!
@maggiemae LOL! I don't even use one maybe for that reason. I read once where someone said the only thing that could scratch the glass was diamond and the chances of it breaking in any other way were very small so that is when I stopped using mine
this is such a lovely picture. I feel like I'm there, or rather that I want to be there and have my washing blown dry by whatever breezes might be blowing.
