I found out the time one of these riverboats left and we got into a place where we could see it. Goes up and down the river in 1 and 1/2 hours.
Three good things:
1. The Camp had a real coffee machine and we chose our coffees for $2 each! There was also a hot chip machine that wasn't working. Fascinating!
2. A grey day so the next destination at Himatangi Beach didn't attract us and we went on to Loxton.
3. Allowed to stop behind an old hotel on a large grassy area and we went in for a drink. Talking to the manageress, we chose drinks and I, a cocktail. There was limited choice but she went out the back and brought her own cocktail shaker with enthusiasm. But when she poured the whole lot into a glass, I suspected she hadn't made many. Showed her how to filter out the ice from the top and she was so happy, she said I didn't have to pay for mine!
At terrific shot of the boat across the way. Clever of you to position yourself to get such a great shot. Good on you for talking the lady into your free drink
@grammyn She was an interesting lady - father was Maori, mother was Irish and she was born with blonde hair! Now its just black (out of a bottle)but she looks more Maori than Irish.
You diary must run into volumes. Do you refer to it often when and you and John 'remember differently'?
Calm river scene.
Moi également...although I tend to misremember!
