Full Moon by maggiemae

Full Moon

I was looking forward to this evening when there was a full moon! I could experiment with my camera!
Some shots put the moon too bright, some too hazy. Eventually by mistake, I put the focus on to the the light of the moon and not itself and it turned out the way I wanted. A complete clear and bright circle!

Three good things:
1. I excused myself from eating the crusts of my lunch sandwich (John is normally horrified) by saying - the birds will appreciate it more!
2. Transplanted a plant into a larger pot - I actually had to cut it out with a sharp knife!. Should have done this years ago.
3. I left John arguing with Siri - as you do - while I used Google for research! Instant reward for me - British ruins, British Gardens, Canadian wildlife!….
I love the purple around the moon!

I really like the coloured corona around the orb!

@willowdragon @30pics4jackiesdiamond It is actually cloud but my focus was not on the cloud itself and it turned it into this abstract blur, Al and Jackie!

it looks stunning! I can imagine a dragon, a crown, an eagle.......

This is wonderful. I love the swirls around the moon.

I think you've created a lovely rainbow fish behind the moon Maggie!

Beautifully colorful! Well done Maggie Mae

@busylady A fish is in the eye of the beholder, Judith!

@grammyn The moon is white, though, Katy! I would have liked to get it some shade of yellow!

Unusual and striking image

The haze around the moon looks like a hand to me- this could be just as fun as cloud gazing!
June 29th, 2018
@olivetreeann I can see your 'hand' but can't see fish, dragons, or eagles! And I normally see faces in anything!

Makes for an interesting image - well done.

Neat abstract Maggiemae!

Perhaps if you raise the f stop to 5.0?
June 29th, 2018
@grammyn A good idea - will have to experiment with tonight's moon! Thanks Katy!
June 29th, 2018
IT Seems counter to what you want but less light actually should make the color less white

Beautiful abstract feel

Abstract and artistic feel to it.
June 29th, 2018
This makes a very cool abstract, Maggiemae! Love the colors!

@casablanca @gardenfolk Thanks you two, Ms C's! But I want to get more yellow in it and Katy @grammyn has suggested a decrease the Fstop! I will try this again!

Great abstract.
June 29th, 2018
I have found success using F11, shutter 1/125 and ISO 100. That brings out detail without over exposing.
June 29th, 2018
@casablanca Thank you so much - I have managed to change my Fstop, choose ISO but not the speed yet - went outside for the moon tonight and you can't see a thing! Total cloud cover!

We just need Santa crossing the face of this moon in his sledge. A bit out of season I know but right weather for you. Loving the purple edging! Your sky has no light pollution! Crusts give curly hair Maggie, you should know that!
June 29th, 2018
@happypat Yup - I must admit I can't stop feeling guilty as I cut crusts off! Also could be a cow? .....Jumping over the moon!
