Sculptures by the Sea

This was a celebration lunch with a good sharemarket result for John’s hard work in investments. It was a Brewery but also had a good menu.
I looked towards the harbour and this photo shows the three old trunks that were left after cutting off the foliage but a sculptor came in and created shapes within these three - with a chainsaw!
Three Good Things;
1. The three trees have different sculptures - seals, owls, penguins, lizards….. They really are so clever!
2. My brisket of beef was so tender and smoked in a monstrosity smoking away in the restaurant grounds. (a photo to come)
3. Their beers are award winning and the wines are likewise - based on local ones!
Congratulations to John. Love sculptures

Sounds the perfect investment to have shares in, great choice! Weird & wonderful shapes, I thought they were three fingers at first!

@happypat It does sound like he has shares in the Brewery but that's not what I meant. He's got a portfolio of investments!

Impressive artwork for starters and a terrific photo of it. I especially like the perspective against the water and sky

It’s amazing to me how great chainsaw sculptures are, they are such big saws!
August 23rd, 2018
When you consider the size and heaveyness of the chainsaw and then see such amazing detailed work...amazing is the only word for it.

Most impressive work!

I never cease to wonder how some people can produce such interesting sculptures with a chainsaw. Was that a Speight's brewery? I loved our visit to one of those when we in NZ.
August 23rd, 2018
@golftragic No it was a boutique brewery, Marnie called Scotts.

@maggiemae Thanks, I'll put it on my list for next visit.

A great capture of this lovely scene. Those trees look real arty, so many different shapes and patterns.

I saw a chap creating art like this with a chain saw at Broke Village Fair last year, he was amazing. There are some clever people out there aren't there.

Sounds like a brilliant trip all round! And what a clever artist. Not a delicate brush in his hand but a massive chainsaw! Amazing.
August 23rd, 2018
@casablanca I think if you watch him, he just uses the tip of his chainsaw quite delicately! So skilled!

How lovely that the tree trunks have another life as art and what a super spot to be.

How clever and unusual. Love that sky in the background!

Great way to "repurpose" a cut down tree!
August 24th, 2018
@olivetreeann I hope they put something on them to stop them from going rotten!
