The Stunned Bird by maggiemae

The Stunned Bird

I looked outside on our patio early this morning and saw this tiny sweet bird just sitting. He had obviously taken the window reflection for a wide open sky!
I added a few processes to encompass this story for him. He looks good on the Black..
Three Good Things:

1. He rested for over an hour then he was gone - free once again.
2. My 93 year old sister in law is grumbling in her hospital bed after having a stroke! (This is the older sister of the one who has been incapacitated by a stroke for 8 years.) Grumbling about not being able to sleep for the noise!
3. Blue Cod - the best fish species for tea tonight and as a treat I bought 4 scallops to dip into batter and fry delicately!
You have two elderly sisters....they both sound characters! Nothing like a bit of go in you for a long life! Beautiful bird, such lovely eyes & rich feathers. Glad you had no cat!

beautiful capture and editing

Nice edit! Glad it survived. Never tried the Blue Cod but scallops are yummy! Sorry to hear about your sister. I am surprised to see that in your list of good things.

Great edit glad he survived! Fav

@happypat Never thought of that, Pat - a cat would be deadly! John's got a bit of a chance with 3 elderly sisters and a Mum who lived to 99!

@skipt07 Yes that might have not been obvious... but the fact that she could grumble is such a good sign. Her younger sister had a stroke 8 years ago and has been unable to walk, read, talk!

Old age is not for the timid!

Lovely editing of this little birdie who must have seen stars in his eyes, glad he survived!

@inthecloud5 If he didn't see stars, I put stars in his picture, Christine!

@allie912 When you are of a certain age, Allison, it gives one great pleasure to see what you looked like 30 years ago!

Beautiful picture and your processing! I like your sense of humor ~ especially now that I know he's off, free as a bird!

Great processing............glad the bird survived!

Sweet shot of the bird. You’re processing makes it magical! Scallops and cod for dinner sounds divine
January 4th, 2019
Awww well he’s sweet. Your scallops sound like heaven. I hope when I’m 93 I don’t grumble too much. 😊

@louannwarren If you get to 93, Lou Ann - you can do what you like!
January 5th, 2019
@elatedpixie That is the right phrase here - free as a bird!
January 5th, 2019
@grammyn He was out on the deck and the deck planks do not look good for this special wee bird!
January 5th, 2019
Nice image, I like it. We have birds doing the same too.
January 5th, 2019
@golftragic Instead of being woken by the alarm, we are woken by the sound of birds hitting the windows!
January 5th, 2019
@maggiemae Oh dear, much worse than our place.

Such a nice photo you've created, and I'm glad to hear the little guy recovered.

You never know where your photographic opportunities are going to come from. Clearly he is stunned as you can see the little stars all around his head.
January 5th, 2019
@stray_shooter Completely unintentional, Ron! But I thought they created the world he came from and the world he was going back into!

Great processing on this beautiful shot. Fav. Sorry for your sister-in-law.

You made this quite magical with your processing - expertly done. (PS - im not sure number 2 qualifies as a good thing!)

@helenhall The fact that she can talk is the best news, Helen!

I have birds fly into the windows in the living room all the time (up high- cathedral ceiling) and I'm always happy when I see them fly off. I like how you've processed this.
