Waiting for his turn by maggiemae

Waiting for his turn

Day One at the BMC (Burt Munro Challenge) was a mixture of mixing with important people and trying to avoid some. Another story.
This is one of the bikes getting ready to race up the hill on a time challenge.
Three good things:
1. I think I handled myself reasonably well as John’s wife (who doesn’t say much)
2. Found a new book that is the epitome of what I will enjoy - speaks of dance in the world of ballet that I knew so well. I was a promising student at the age of 12 to 15 but because I wanted to dance my own steps, I conveniently forgot the ones I was taught. No future for me but the devotion is still there.
3. The book, Beneath the Parisian Skies by All Sinclair - there I’ve set it down in history!
Looks like an exciting day of racing

Interesting snippet of Maggiemae history here. You were showing your independence and initiative when it wasn't required. What a shame they couldn't handle it. Tough training for ballet. And well done for doing the right John's wife act. Hope you enjoy this biking adventure with John.

@helenhall The dancing teacher wouldn't speak to me for several days, Helen!

Although it may have dashed your dreams for a life of dance it spoke very well about who you are and I’m glad it didn’t dampen your spirit one bit.

Very colorful photo

@grammyn In those days, I grew too tall to be able to take part but anyway my parents said I had to choose between ballet and university education!

@maggiemae Rough choice!

Interesting photo, fascinating thread. I didn't know you were into ballet. As for your father's ultimatum, my father issued a similar one to me regarding cricket and baseball.

@stray_shooter I often see more than the subject in these sort of photos, Ron.

Cool. We ride an old Honda VFR - powerful and beautiful and all but classic now, it's so old! I do enjoy watching bikes.....and riding them!
