It seems several friends are looking to see my crown jewels. I took this photo hoping to get away with it. I also cloned one of the beads and put them on my ears!
They are actually nearly 90 years old having been bought by my mother in the 1930’s when she was in Switzerland. So its nice to give them a day of fame.
Three Good Things;
1. I can feel a Yolanda story developing.
2. I can also feel slightly slimmer.
3. I can’t feel sorry for those people who interrupt often and don’t listen.
They are beautiful maggie....stunning on your lovely tanned skin, do t think they would look as good on my white pale untanned neck, Really shows the colours off, a good age too. So nice to have something of your mums to treasure. I like your today’s 3 GT.
@happypat Its only tanned because the freckles meet, Pat! Shortly after this photo, one of the strings broke. I think it will be easy to attach though with a pair of tweezers!
They are so pretty and dainty - so much nicer than some of today's clumpy showy jewellery ! Clever to clone the beads to create yourself a pair of earrings !
Very pretty- and such a treasure for having them so long. Well done on the matching earrings! The colors are right up my alley- I love blue tones like this even though I don't have a lot of jewelry in this color. (Most of mine was given to me- and have just as many stories- looking forward to the next Yolanda adventure!)
Love your beautiful necklace. What a treasure to have for a remembrance of your mother. I really, really like necklaces with blue stones, although I rarely wear mine (can't handle the clasps anymore).
@kiwinanna They seem to have tiny metal ringlets between each piece. You can open them up and clip them back on. Easy peasy - when you have a hubby with steady hands!
...and with matching earrings. Good for you! I've some of my mother's 'jewels' too. Whilst I don't wear them often, I very much appreciate them being in my gift. Am pleased that Mum willed some personal pieces to her 2 granddaughters. The beat goes on.
@s4sayer I do believe you have to wear them constantly - perhaps not if they are really valuable! It makes you feel good and they really go with everything - even a t-shirt!
How clever to match the earrings. blue is your color. for some reason I don't like to wear necklaces. they bother me on my skin. so I only wear necklaces on top of a blouse or dress.
I have acquaintances that do this and it is sooooo annoying!
