Meeting up with my stepdaughter from Perth in Australia - the reason for our visit to Christchurch, we took her to this newly opened restaurant called Sign of the Takahe. It is an historic building first started in 1918 but extensively damaged in the Christchurch earthquake of 2011. Reopened just a few weeks ago. As you can see it still has the English feel about it! Indeed, the dining room is an exact replica of the historic Haddon Hall in Derbyshire.
Thankful for:
The advantages of a really comfy mattress is that you sleep so well! Should be compulsory for health reasons!
Such a beautiful restaurant , Love all the interior architecture , and coat of arms - looks quite a medieval hall . So nice to see father and daughter deep in conversation ! fav
Splendid! Am delighted to see that there is a growing tendency to adapt historic buildings as opposed to changing them into a rural version of motorway service stations with the attendant retail opportunities.
Great sense of warmth, comfort and bonhomie. Can't beat it!
