This dear little bell was found in the garage and was in severe disrepair! I looked on the net and salt, vinegar and flour later, the colour became golden. But there is an image I saw on the side. A man, legs apart, apparently swinging a 'something (lasso?)' and the other arm down near his crotch. What's going on!

I'm thinking along the lines of Julie's thinking. He looks like an ancient Olympian and the pattern along the edge of the bell is the decorative edging of Greek art that represented eternity. But what that has to do with a little brass bell is beyond me! Nice shot.
@grammyn Now all I have to do is a very tarnished silver jug - screw up silver foil into water, bring to boil and add 1 TB baking soda! That's going to be interesting - might leave it till tomorrow!
