I was up in Timaru for yet another optician's appointment. John has to get another injection in his eye for macular degeneration. I'm glad he's been taken care of - one of his eyes is practically useless and this eye needs the injection to keep him from going blind. Old age is an on going challenge!'
Glad about:
My walk near this cliff with the sea on the other side of me - warm, well planted out and with lots of friendly walkers.
Lovely capture of this beautiful lone tree. Glad your hubby is being well looked after. My dad always tells me that getting old is not for the feint of heart!
What a great shot of the tree living on the edge. My sister has to have injections in her eyes for macular degeneration. I can think of nothing worse than injections in your eyes. Makes me cringe to just think about it. Hope all goes well, I think he deserves a lollipop afterwards. Fav
Poor John that sounds extremely painful! I have two friends wit that condition but neither have had an injection yet as far as I know!
Beautifully shaped tree!
A super shot - fav. So sorry to hear of John's struggle with his sight - A friend has this condition and goes regularly for these injections! Hope all goes well for him!
@happypat Funnily enough its not painful, Pat - the eye is anaesthatised ( I don't think that's spelt right). It reminds me of the saying "better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick"!
@helenhall He has to have them every two months for a while, Helen. While waiting for him outside the eye clinic I observed all these old people coming out - on walkers, walking sticks, slowly etc. John was the only one that stood up straight and walked easily!
@carole_sandford I think it always sounds awful, Carole but the eye is anethatised (not spelt properly) it doesn't hurt and the fact is - it may be stopping blindness is a benefit!
Beautifully shaped tree!
Sorry to hear about John’s struggles but good to know there is some thing they can do for it
