Watcha doin? by maggiemae

Watcha doin?

I'm taking pictures of you, you cute little button - and of the hiding mate who is going to pounce on you!

This is at the SPCA where I volunteer every Thursday. There are 9 adult cats and 13 kittens here. A couple of days ago a lady noticed someone throwing a sack over by the railway line and went to investigate. The sack moved and inside were 6 kittens about 4 weeks old! They all got taken in by the SPCA. They are so cute but I couldnt take a photo of them as they moved about so fast and were in a dark room.
Oh bless!!!! He (she) looks very startled and a bit scared..... are they both yours Maggie?

Being a huge cat fan, I'd say you've nabbed the best volunteer gig in town. Nice shot!

So cute! Reminds me of a cat we had, she was a character!

What kind of human scum does that to a bunch of helpless kittens. That just sickens me. So glad there are people like you around to help balance things out.
February 14th, 2013
@worldbiking We have to do the dirty work but then we have the time to do some cuddling!
February 14th, 2013
Cannot even understand why people would do something like that, but at least someone found them in time.

@digitalrn Some people are coerced by their children to have a kitten which then grows up and they don't want to afford to have the cat neutered, it has kittens and they can't afford to feed an extra six. If they take them to the vet for putting down, it costs as does the SPCA surrendering! Can't think of a solution!

Super cute. Nice hiding place :)

I love the little face peeking up from its hiding place. The kitten will be even more startled than he already is!

Oh, how cute! And how guilty the one on top looks! I would never be able to do that, Maggie! My heart would break each day and I would want to bring them all home! Good for you!

I love their little faces. I could watch kittens play all day. And bravo to you for volunteering at the shelter. We got our two little darlings from the RSPCA. I love them to bits.

What curious eyes and sweet faces. So glad there's folks like you and the ASPCA to care for them until the find a forever home.

Just beautiful. She looks so frightened. Great eyes. Nice capture

@kcman5 This wee kitten is not frightened - she is like a piece of quicksilver dashing everywhere and not being easy to catch! With tail up!

I don't know how I missed this one ... it's lovely! I so adore cats and kept them all my life until I landed here in old folks'accomodation where pets are not allowed. I do still miss them.

@wordpixman Thanks Arthur! You could always tag "cat' or kitten and have a wealth of cat photos to admire!
February 15th, 2013
I often do, but then I want one, and know I can't, and that makes me sad/

Brilliant Maggie.
