All over the world, churches have been constructed in a way to provide the worshippers with the sense of wonder, reverence, peace and safety. This was a large church in Paris where I sat and felt like this.
Of course, they were also built to last - thank goodness!
I sat & photoed about three churches while I was in Ireland...just love them. Such peaceful places to sit & get your breath back.....don't care what branch of religion we all go the same way! This is a beauty......I believe the Paris churches are spectacular...have you ever read The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett? My favourite book. Beautiful glow you got here maggiemae....fave.
@happypat I love to see all churches, the little ones and the big ones - looking forward to the Spanish ones too particularly Gaudi! No not read that book but I think John has. I'll see if I can get it on line.
