A sad state of affairs

Built as a grain store in 1875-76 but long since abandoned. A company buys old car wrecks for various reasons and occupies a ground floor office. I have inverted the photograph but not the building or the broken cars!
Really neat negative effect!

An interesting image, I like the treatment you have used and would love to visit this sometime in the future, with my camera in hand. A fav

The treatment makes it looks more surreal than decrepit. Fascinating to see how processing can change the mood so dramatically.

Nicely done

@taffy Thats just what I thought, Taffy - the original is a bit sad!

@nzkites You would find each side of this building has photographic appeal! Made of Oamaru Stone, of course!

The sight of all that broken stuff made you feel negative? LOL Quite fun in this conversion. As Taffy said, it keeps it away from showing how decrepit it is.

That really was a clever idea, certainly transformed it

@casablanca Good statement, Ms C! It was depressing seeing as is!

like this lots!

The edit gives this such a ghostly and surreal look and the focus on the building avoids you dwelling on the debris in the foreground !

@beryl Which is amazing, Beryl! The original is just awful - wrecks and rust!

Your editing makes this scene so surreal. The white tree is ghostly!

Really interesting processing. I love the silvery tree.

Inverting it takes it from being a mundane shot to something interesting. I like the colors that came out of the inversion

I hate seeing old dilapidated cars hanging about! Of course to a man there is never a car wreck just a spare part! Interesting effect, I think you have just camaflouged the sight! 🤗

Intriguing processing. It does make the image quite surreal and draws attention.
