These always remind me of my mum and her 'love' of gardening. We always had loads of these in a garden when I was small and she always tried to dig them up as she was not fond of them! I really like them, we have a few clumps in our garden, and they always remind me of her.
@randystreat I believe they are Centaurea a sort of perennial cornflower. They are so attractive and much loved by bees. Lovely to have plants in the garden that hold memories.
Thanks Cherrill for the 'real' name - we always have known them as cornflowers since I was a child. They multiply really easily and so I keep giving patches of them away to friends. Anyone is East Yorkshire is welcome to some!!
