First ever

We grew butternut squash last year but all failed. This year we’ve got about 12 on the plant all nearly ripe. We’ve had a veg box out all summer giving away what we don’t need to anyone who passes. It’s been great fun seeing what goes and then filling it again.
Butternut squash yum, love your veggie box, so nice to share the surplus.

No need to give these away. They keep a long time and you can cook and freeze them, I believe. (Good for soup)

We love butternut squash! I love halfing them, scooping out the seeds and goo and filling in the cup with cranberries, walnuts, a dash of brown sugar and a pat of butter then bakin it for one hour. It's delish!! Nice shot.

@randystreat I agree - I love the soup - especially with a little curry too.
