Boat Shed by mandygravil

Boat Shed

Just one of the sheds made from upturned boats on Holy Island on our recent trip up there. Such a wonderful place and so many things to see and photograph.
That is a lovely shot and I think a hobbit could live in that boat shed.

An interesting building. Is it made out of a boat, or built to make it look like it's made out of a boat?

Lovely composition. The subject taking up most of the scene but with a view of where it is situated.

It is rather charming in a messy way. Love the horseshoe above the door facing the correct way for good luck. Nice to see an old boat being repurposed instead of just abandoned. A great view too with a bench! :)

@randystreat Thanks Kathy - There were quite a few of them but none quite as good as this. I believe they are old boats turned upside down. There were some that were also being repaired so I presume that over the years they will lose some of their boating material but I love the original idea. Some were larger and others smaller - real hobbit houses!
@haskar Thank you.
@kipper1951 Thank you Chris - that's great feedback - I hadn't thought of that but I completely see what you mean.
@paul10 Thank you Paul
@craftymeg Thank you Margaret and for the fav.
@joev Thanks Joe - I wish I had taken more photos of them now.
@4rky Thank you - Oh I agree - the first time we visited it was tipping it down so we never got out of the car but this time the weather was fab and we spent ages there. I want to return sometime soon.
@gardenfolk Thank you. I know what you mean about the messiness. I'm not sure if there had been people on the bench whether that would have added or taken away from the photo.
