May I have it please? by mandygravil

May I have it please?

I have decided to try out some low key side lighting photos of our dogs so Norman was my first contestant today.

I used a black velvet background and had the camera on a tripod so I could stand to a side with the biscuits which you can see exactly where I was standing. I think it is a lot of practice and just getting them at the right time.As my lights aren't great it came out a little orange as he is a dark yellow lab so I decided this time to put it into B&W.
Great pet portrait

I think the black and white is truly striking. I'm sure he'd glow in color too. It's a beautiful portrait no matter what format you choose!

@sarahlth Thank you Sarah
@chrisiow Thanks Chris - and for the fav.
@mave Thanks Mave and for the fav.
@samae Thank you - the eye was what I was trying for as it makes such a difference but they are a bit quick to move sometimes. Fortunately he was focused on the treat in my hand.
@onewing Thank you Babs - he definitely did.
@kipper1951 Thank you Chris
@randystreat Thanks Kathy
@365karly1 Thank you Karly - pleasure. The photo of Dennis was also done in the same way with window light too but he wasn't quite so co-operative so I didn't have a lot of time with him.
@olivetreeann Thank you Ann, you are very kind.
@kklinck99gmailcom Thank you Kate, and for the fave and Follow. @elatedpixie Thank you very much.
@casablanca Thank you.

Thank you all for sending Norman PP and TP. He is a very special one of our dogs considering he nearly lost his life in a freak accident a few years ago and needed exceptional surgery by our wonderful vet. Still makes me feel sick when I think about it.

@mandygravil maybe it's also that "specialness" he has that comes out so beautifully here - contributing to that lovely lighting - you and he are well deserving of the PP.
