Oh how things change!

Last bank holiday weekend was glorious mid 20 deg with sunshine and the promise of summer!!

Today we are basking in the mid 20s again - but only with the help of our trusty log burner.

Happy Bank Holiday everyone who is having one!
"Cast not a clout 'till May is out"... I always wondered what that meant until someone explained to me that a "clout" was an older northern English term for a vest! 😀

So cosy.

After a lovely sunny day yesterday, it went quite chilly last night and poured with rain. We lit our wood burner fire for the first time since last August. I think somebody flicked the winter switch last night and it is only the end of autumn.

@peadar Hubby always says that but the 'May' it refers to we are not sure if it is the month or the may which is the blossom on hawthorne hedges. Perhaps Carole may know?@carole_sandford.
@mave @onewing @samae It is so cosy - and lit today on a very wet and soggy Wednesday. Who said summer was coming?

We are thankfully done burning- even the cooler evenings are just warm enough to keep us from getting it fired up.

@olivetreeann We are just starting to feel like that this week - although they tell us it will get colder later in the week. British weather!!
