@diananorfolk thank you Diana, it was a bit of both really. Once they become used to people they are okay, some will let you stroke them, whilst they bite your fingers for food, it does not hurt. They are only dangerous if you try to get too close to the nest, but having said that they is a pair in a local park next to the Coots I shot, and the nest is next to the footpath, you can stand 12inches away and the bird just sits and watches everybody walk past. I have a photo of a Swan from here with my Grand daughter about two years old stroking it, it was taller than she was.
