I had a couple of hours today so when to where I might see something I was seeking. It turned into a bit of a NO day. Normally I look out the hide and there are all sorts of bird life, various ducks, crows, geese, swans, grebes, waders, coots etc, today, nothing within about 500 yards of me. The other way squirrels, flocks of Tits, Treecreepers, Thrushes, even two Buzzards but all so far away, the best I could do was just about identify them. After about an hour things had not really changed, when someone came into the hide and said there was a group of twitchers, out of my sight, 150 yards away, who had found the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker. It is quite a rare and hard to find bird, I have seen it there before but not this year so I went to have a look. NO, they had lost sight of it. Back to the hide, tried some shots of a Wren, a Great Tit destroying a thistle head, and a Wood mouse sulking in the grass, but No nice images. Luckily the Robin was quite happy to pose, which is why there is a Robin in both albums today.
I love both pics and so this one gets a Fav too! Sorry you didn't get pics of what you wanted but I often find that's what happens. When you are not really looking that hard, an unusual bird seems to appear for some reason.
