MERSEY'S MAGIC MIRROR by markp

MERSEY'S MAGIC MIRROR

Looking upstream of the River Mersey, in the distance you can see the bridges and Fiddlers Ferry Power Station busy making clouds.
The river was flat calm and after I saw this I thought I would wait around as the tide came in and see if I could fill the river with clouds.

Not far from here I found a Kingfisher, and watched him for nearly an hour, he was even hovering high over the pool, just like a Kestrel would. Sadly he was not really close enough to photograph well.

When I walked back to the river, I watched the water push upstream over the sands, unfortunately as it met the water coming downstream, it ruffled the surface and the mirror vanished.
This is amazing.

Gosh this is fantastic - fav I keep saying to my hubby that I want to visit Liverpool as my mother grew up there. My grandfather took me to (gosh I can't remember the name) and it was on the river Mersey just outside Liverpool

Amazing. Almost an abstract rather than a landscape

One of my fagvourite things about photography is the way it lets me slow down and really be aware of what is going on around me. It sounds like you had one of those great photographic days out.
