Starlings are noisy, squabbling creatures, and when in very large flocks can leave a lot of mess. This has lead to them getting a bit of a reputation as being dirty. However they are very intelligent, excellent mimics, ( they can do phone ring tones), very amusing to watch, and can be extremely trusting, like Robins, they will learn to take food from your hand. As you can see they are also quite an attractive bird.
