SHINING THROUGH THE STEAM by markp

SHINING THROUGH THE STEAM

A local landmark, visible from many miles away, Fiddler's Ferry power station, producing electricity since 1971. It is due to close in March, so I've been busy collecting images, while there is still steam and smoke billowing out of the towers. It doesn't seem to have the same " grandeur "(?, if that's the right word), when it's not running.
Drama in spades... I'm glad you're recording this as all of these power stations will soon be a thing of the past.

Good shot. I hope that the employees will be relocated or don’t lose their jobs somehow.

It does look very dark and threatening in this shot...rather a vague feeling of Mordor.
