I thought I had glimpsed one of these about a week ago, but today she stayed around longer to let me photograph her. She is a female Blackcap, with a brown head. I have had these birds in the garden before, but there is no sign yet, of the more striking male which has a black head hence its name.
Interestingly, though its not really visible in this shot, she has a BTO ring on her right leg.
@pamknowler Thank you Pam, these don't stand out quite as much as this photograph appears to make them. The males with the black heads are very noticeable, the females can easily be dismissed as LBJs.
