I know this is a TERRIBLE shot! It is kind of a fuzzy focus and I processed as good as I could get it... I was on my way home from grocery shopping yesterday and I saw this Black Vulture in the middle of the road dining on road kill. Had my camera with me and so, I thought I'd get a good pic through my windshield, if it didn't fly off... Well, it saw me coming! But, it hopped over to the side of the road. I rolled down the passenger side window, quickly zoomed as best as I could and snapped a few off. A car was coming up behind me so I had to move on... Made me think about a theme for a new series which is the whole title above. This will be fun and interesting! Care to join me?
This has a wonderful craziness about it., as if you truly are hunting the turkey, at least hat's what he thinks. Sometimes it's good to just take a shot because it's there right now. I'm with you.
Great drive by shot, Maggie. I have taken my share of drive by shots. Usually a blur and rarely get to pull over or slow down as there is always someone behind us. You got lucky to be able to pull over briefly. Nicely done.
Lol, That's me to a T with birds, I get out and chase them. I have quietish road but they are usually in the spots where I can't pull over. Terrific attempt at capturing your buzzard
@camisze This week, Cathy! Just use the same title if you want to. I'll number the rest of my shots. Cool! Can't wait to see yours! Thank you!
@copperheadglass LOL! Thank you for your comments, Meredith! Always appreciated!
@wannabe So, let's see some more drive-by shots, Catherine! Thank you for your visit! Most appreciated!

@myautofocuslife I promise to be very careful, Livia! Thank you so much for your comments! xo
This should be my Theme EVERYDAY!!...I fhink about 50% of my shots are totally Drivebye's!! I would love to see you do a series of these!! ( now what i mean is that i do the driving and see something out the window and either stop the car ..roll down the window..or jump out and risk death by a passer bye...now does that count???
@marlboromaam I see that others are doing a mirror series...did you start a theme or challenge?..I will have to go buy a Mirror if i do one up here ...I may have to wait untill i get back to Texas!! We dont even have a mirror in the R.V. (the closet doors are mirror's and the bathroom cabinet ..but they are permanently attached!! lol)
@ellimae I did. I posted it here... http://365project.org/marlboromaam/challenges-and/2012-05-12
I also posted the link for it on 5 other shots, two of which you did comment on. I understand about your mirror situation. There will probably be more of these mirror challenges though. They are too much fun! I am looking for a smaller mirror myself for a future series.
Drive by's are a specialty with me ;-) Actually like the I fuzzy look around the turkey buzzard. Nicely done. This reminds me I still have an old photo in my photo library with a bunch of them lined up on a roof. May post that as a filler if I can find it one day. Thanks for all your comments on my photos....always appreciated!
Great capture. Getting animals in nature is always a challenge. Very cool to catch that ol' bird.
I am in awe that you could get your photography self together fast enough while driving down the road. I'd join your challenge, except that I'm not able to drive-- though I do get a lot of photos while walking around town.
Great commando photography Maggie. There is an almost eerie scary quality to this scene and bird. I know they are important in the food chain, but there is something about them that gives me goose bumps.
@jaboney LOL! "Commando photography" - love it! I agree, Mike! I think it's because they are birds of death and rot that they give people the creeps. They remind us of our own mortality. Appreciate your kind comments and visit, as always! Thank you!
@pointnshoot28 LOL! Surely, it's there somewhere! Maybe you just need to drive out of town or take a camping trip with some friends. Thank you for your kind and lovely comments, Donna! Most appreciated!
I hope I am not too late to do some drive bys.........this one is really great...I like how it turned out with the center so focused and the rest a bit blurred..
@purdey Yes, I do! I want to wave them on around but, that usually doesn't work! I just really hate it when they start blowing their horn at me. LOL! Thank you, Sharon!
@vickisfotos LOL! The whole shot is pretty blurred. I tried to add more blur around the bird to make him look a little more in focus. Thank you for your kind comments, Vicki!
