Sometimes, it's just so hard to believe these roses are on the same bush! So many different colors and tones as they grow in their blooming stages. This is my tea rose. Couldn't tell you what name it is. It was here when I moved in almost 11 years ago. I can tell you that the blossoms are not near as big, since I haven't had Bitsy around to help me make manure tea for them. She provided the most important ingredient for FREE and my rose bushes loved it!
iMac Update: My iMac is and I'll quote them..."It's on the recovery machine now. We won't be able to know we successfully recovered any files until it's finished. We will call you with an update in a day or two." Okay... Cross your fingers, please! There's almost a terabyte of photos, movies, music, documents, etc. I'm sure it will be on the recovery machine a while. LOL! Sounds like a hospital and I guess it is, in a way.
You are a busy lady, today! I was just about to sign out for several hours and this photo popped up just in time! I also have one of these tea rose bushes with variegated colors all in bloom & was thinking of photographing it yesterday. But I never would be able to capture a shot as glorious as yours! Fav ;-) The colors and lighting are fabulous along with how it's displayed.
@sanfil You are very sweet! Thank you so much for your lovely comments, Sandra!
@cimes1 Carole, you take great pics! Please don't let this shot stop you! Take pics of the things that move you. =) Thank you for your lovely and sweet comments! Thank you for the fav, too! Always grateful and appreciative to receive them!
Beautiful colors, composition and lighting. I have a similar rose in my garden and it always amazes me how many colors the flowers changes from the beginning to the end of its journey.
@danette I have it, Danette! But found out that is doesn't back up everything! Doesn't back up movies or other files in other folders. Oiy! Have got a new external drive to back up these files if and when I get it back and if anything is recovered. Thank you for your lovely comments on my pic!
I really like how the light is catching the petals on these two roses!
We are somewhat lucky in that we have many Amish neighbors and we continually have a bountiful supply of road apples for making tea.
How beautiful this is Maggie!! Vibrant color and lighting ... hoping and praying for your computer's "complete recovery!" You have more patience and fortitude than I do ... I would be pulling my hair out. Well, here I go again, trying to get inspired. I must have deleted almost 1500 photos in the past ten days ... no good. Thanks for the support, Maggie. Am truly grateful.
@karenann LOL! I wish you'd let me have seen some of those before you had deleted them! I know you are so hard on yourself - look at the pot calling the kettle black! Ha ha! Thank you for your lovely comments, Karen! I'm happy to see you back and was beginning to worry! Do keep your fingers crossed for my iMac! Too many files I could not stand to lose!
I read something recently on inspiration and it boiled down to this... "stick to what "moves" you on the inside! Do try new things but always return to what stirs your motivation!" Have you figured out the things that inspire you yet? Another way to put it was... "the nature photographer or the studio photographer"... nature = spur of the moment with most things out of the photographer's control, or studio = every element under the control of the photographer with exception of a live subject. Another way to put it is... doing the best you can with what you've got OR controlling every aspect of your shot. Just trying to help if I can.
Beautiful shot Maggie =) my roses are just starting to open and i never know what colours im going to get? Hope they can rescue everything on your comp!
gorgeous colors, as you say hard to believe it comes from the same bush!
All the best to your Mac, hope he will recover very soon, and that you will be able to save the maximum of pix and music ;)
Thanks, Maggie ... guess that I absolutely fall into the "nature" category! I do delete the photos like a real "control freak" tho . . lol. I'm maybe trying too hard and, like you said, maybe I'm too hard on myself. Either way, it's me. We make a great pair, my friend. Thanks, Mags.
What a gorgeous photo, Maggie. I love the colors and lighting. FAV
I am crossing my fingers and toes that your computer is ok and you lost nothing. Having said that, get an external hard drive and back up your computer and take that with you where ever you go. My husband knew someone that left and returned home in a short period of time to find his house on fire and he lost everything including his backup that was in his house. We got broke into but lucky my new external hard drive was under a bunch of papers near my computer and I had backed up for the first time ever only a few weeks prior. I, like you would not want to lose anything but could have and that was scary for me. Hang in there as it is amazing that things can be fixed and recovered easily today.
@darsphotos Thank you for your lovely comments and the fav, Darlene! I really appreciate the crossed fingers and toes, too! I do have an external drive waiting. I am so sorry your house had a break in. Was that when all your father's things were stolen? Were the police ever able to recover anything?
This is an absolutely incredible photo. The colors are so gorgeous and the lighting is beautiful. A wow and a definite fav. I hope you get a good report on your iMac.
You Truly are a Special Lady ... Ma'am ... I have enjoyed all you Vids. ... Music and Your Inspiration ... I have read ... listened and watch bout everyone I think ... Your Words are Thoughtful ... Your Heart is Kind ... Like the Blushing colors of these Roses You Will Shine ... I hope the best outcome on the Mac ... You's one tough Cookie Ma'am ... Peace to You Maggie ...
@lonewolfman Nice to see you! Thank you for the kind comments! Really appreciate your time to view my pics and write a little something. Yes, thanks for the well wishes for my Mac, too!
@marlboromaam I am glad you have an external hard drive waiting. It is the single thing you always want to have when you have a computer especially with photos on it and other files. Yes, the break in was when everything that I had of my Dad's and my husbands Dad's was taken along with everything that Dan had given me in 30 years including our wedding rings, they took that entire drawer full of rings and special things and left only costume jewelry. The police caught the guys the next day at someone else's home, went to their home and had a serial number on a game system that matched my sons box to the game system so they were directly linked to our house. We went to the police station and there was so little jewelry and what was there in necklaces was all tangled up. I got my Mother-in-laws ring and that is all. My son got games and game systems back and that was all. $12,000 of stuff was gone though worth so much more than that. Even our collection of coins was gone. I still am so cautious about leaving our house and locking everything as our neighbor was broken into last year two days in a row. They came back to get the rest of his guns. The guys that broke in to our house were two teens and one 20 year old. The teens plead guilty but did not disclose what they did with our stuff and got probation and the 20 year old plead innocent but had our stuff and was caught at the next house. He was put in jail last year for 2 years and his wages when he get out, if any will pay back our deductible to us and our increase in homeowners for three years as you are dinged for a loss over $3,000. Really stinks but we were not harmed nor was our cat. It is late, so off to sleep. Take care. Hugs!!
@corymbia Appreciate your comments about my pic and my Mac, Amanda! Thank you!
@darsphotos I really thought Carbonite online backup backed up it all. If I want to pay extra for it, it will. But, best to have two copies of stuff available anyhow. Really very sorry everything that was stolen could not be recovered. I am surprised the police didn't press the culprits for the information. God bless you, gal! Hugs!
gorgeous colors and lighting! i love how they are curling under just a bit....so pretty :) I REALLY HOPE they can recover all your photos etc!! do you have some of it backed up on a hard drive or cd's ??
