Again, filler. I am just not tolerating the heat outside my door. I can walk outside for 5 minutes and come back inside soaking wet with sweat from the hair on my head to my toes. Ugh! HUMID and HOT!
We cooled off a tough today, Maggie. Hope that you did, too. This is excellently captured. Love the details. But eeek, how many new spiders will you get? It reminds me of Charolotte's Web.
Fabulous capture, Maggie ...love the pov and the textures here. The detail is exquisite. And yes, I think that there's more babies coming (and more photo ops!) :)
@yonnie LOL! That's okay! I keep saying I feel the same way, but a photo opp is a photo opp! Thank you for the comments and visit, Yvonne!
@amandalomonaco Thank you so much, Amanda! We made up to 100F degrees today. Not sure what the heat index was with the humidity levels - probably about 110F degrees, I imagine!
@redrucksack I don't blame you, Eva! Thank you for your comments and visit!
@danette Thank you, Danette! I would prefer the cocoons, too!
@lynnb Thank you, Lynn! Really appreciate you comments and visit!
@karenann LOL! Maybe, but doubtful! My skin would crawl! Thank you for your wonderful comments, Karen! Always appreciated!
Most people get the shivers when confronted with an arachnid, but they are so beneficial! Can you imagine how many insects there would be to plague mankind without them? Great capture Maggie!
@memejanetx3 We got about 15 minutes of rain but it's still thundering and lightning close by! Happy to know you got some rain and it has cooled off, Janet! Let's hope for some more!
Awesome find and shot!!! Something is caught in the web above the eggs...maybe a little bug? Hooray for rain...even for just 15 minutes!!! Now do your rain dance and maybe you can get a little more!
I love it! I wonder what it has in there? hope it cools down for you! but it is nice to have the chance to post a few that otherwise we may not have seen
Great shot of a spider. Not a big fan. Better dead than near me. If they stay outside and not close to the door they will survive. But saying that I do like the little hairs on his legs.
Hope you get a break in the heat soon. The mornings and evenings are very pleasant here and that's when I do all my walking. ooooh, fascinating egg sac with many little babies soon. Will be interesting to see after it hatches. Stay cool!!!
@myautofocuslife LOL! Thank you, Livia! I can certainly understand. My skin was crawling while I was trying to get this shot. Appreciate your comments and visit, as always!
@traciwood You are so sweet! Thank you so much, Traci!
@cindyrez Thank you, Cindy! They probably are loaded! Yikes!
@aleksandra LOL! Very careful - not so brave! Thank you, Aleksandra!
@peterdegraaff I wonder what natural predators they have? Thank you for stopping by, Peter!
@cimes1 The break in the heat probably won't come until October, Carole. We don't have an ocean and a gulf on each side of us to get any kind of air movement. Things just stagnate around here. Thank you for your wonderful comments. I looked for the egg sacks day before yesterday and they are gone. Didn't see any baby spiders either. Don't know what happened. I'm staying in the AC.
isn't 365 great? i never cared to look at a spider and his web before this project. now i have learned that he and his web are actually quite interesting, as evidenced by your photo!
stay cool.......hope you get a bit of a break soon!
Pls can you send a little of your heat my way - but not the humidity - we're wet enough as it is. Many roads were flooded this weekend. And more rain to come :( Think your spider pic is cool - love all bugs and creatures and stuff. Nicely done.
total heebie jeebies just from looking at this in the small view, lol.. I'm so done with Summer I can't even tell you.. I'm going to start putting up Christmas decorations just to try and trick my brain..
Very nice capture Maggie! I'm a bit unsettled when it comes to photographing spiders, bees, wasps and things that jump, sting or bite.
For that reason, I can appreciate when someone else took the risk and captured the shots for me to look at.
Nice filler, I think. Not much of a spider person but a good photo. I hope it cools there for you. It has heated up here. 101 plus today less the humidity and 105 tomorrow. I have been staying inside. Also overdid cleaning on Sunday so made my neck act up and terrible body pain and my Vertigo started up again, so stopped posting and commenting to let it settle down. Ice and extra meds = a cold zombie. lol Just wanted to say hi.
This is cool! I cannot totally tell from this pic, but looks ALOT like a Basilica Orb Weaver spider. They hang balls like that over their webs....did you see if she had a "dome" shaped web? They usually hang the balls of egg sacs over the top of the do me and then they sit under it. I have a pic of another one I will post soon. Plus I posted that one called "Thunderdome" that is one of these spiders.
@paulaag Thank you, Paula! I really appreciate your comments! We will be getting some rain through Friday. Slow moving storms that form in the afternoon and last through the late night... which is putting me behind since I have to shut down when they hit. Ack! But we need the rain, badly!
@thebluegnu I would love to send you some heat! Thank you for your lovely comments and visit! Always appreciated!
@smithak Thank you so much for your remarks, Smitha! We will be getting thunderstorms through Friday!
