This was taken Monday evening between one storm system moving out and another one moving in. I couldn't believe the orange and peach colors! I got about 5 drops of rain out of these systems and about 10 drops out of yesterday's storms. Maybe will get a few more drops today instead of just thunder and lightning! Wow, brilliant capture, Maggie. It's amazing the little rain you've been getting to go along with the stormy skies. We've been getting a little rain late in the day, but sometimes our skies get really dark and nothing happens. CRAZY weather these last few yrs.
I have heard it said that when the sky gets this color there is severe storms approaching. Not sure if it's an old wives tale or if there is anything to it. Great capture of the colors though Maggie!
@cimes1 I can smell the rain and I can smell the ozone from all the lightning but, little rain hits the ground here. Although about 15 miles away, it floods! Course, this is typical for South Carolina in the summertime with exception to the extreme triple digit temps! Thank you for your comments, as always!

The color in the sky looks amazing. Awesome shot. I don't think I've seen anything like this. Very beautiful, but also very dry. It reminds me of baked clay or terracotta. Hope you get more rain soon!
