Not so many cones this year...

This may look like a lot of pine cones to fall, but in the past years around here, I've seen the trees so full of cones - you couldn't see the needles. Less food for squirrels to ravage this winter. I thought there were fewer squirrels too, but NO! There were several barking very loud at me when I was out taking pics today.
Hmm, do you know the reason for the less pine cones?

@dutchothotmailcom Stress. Too hot, not enough rain, then too much rain. Same for less acorns in the oak trees.
