A very colourful Indian celebration - Lots of beautiful saris, decorations, performances and the wonderful smell of spices - big crowds. Sadly this being Christchurch a big police presence, after the terrible events in March crowded places will never feel quite the same, there's always an underlying edge.
You may have answered my question. There seemed to be a heavy police presence in Auckland this morning. We wondered whether they were expecting opposition to Endeavour arriving, or just early for tonight’s rugby, but now I’m wondering if it was for Diwali
