A Second Take

Most times, I am not the sort to bother with special effects too much. I enjoy the challenge of realistic photography. But this effect just seemed to add a different (if possibly corny) dimension, so I thought I'd share it. (Though I feel this is so of most photos shared online, this photo does appear best when viewed on black.)

Though I am posting this a few days late, I do hope that all my 365 friends who visit this had a joyous holiday page and continue to bask in the holiday glow.
I agree with it all - realistic photography is brilliant when you can get that perfect shot, but this is fun. it really does pop awesomely on black too!

@caterina Thank you. And the same to you and yours. BTW- I've started writing you an email, but I need to go out and start pruning some rosebushes while it is still light outside. It is that time of year, here in SoCal.

The Menorah and Christmas tree being lit by “the light” gives me good shivers

Really quite clever - not corny. Well done.

This is a creative and very successful scene.

The light complements the Menorah and Christmas tree without over powering the composition. Well done. Hope you and yours had a most wonderful Christmas.

I like it...along with the Menorah and Christmas tree. Onward to New Years next. :)

The special effect is interesting -- but takes attention away from the menorah and tree and focuses instead on the light.
