Rose of Sharon

The best laid plans... I had hoped to take lots of photos on a sunset river cruise tonight. Unfortunately the weather had other ideas and the cruise was cancelled. I ran outside and grabbed this shot right before the thunderstorms arrived.

I love these trees!!! I had a purple, double Rose of Sharon that the flowers looked like carnations!! I had it for nearly 20 years and then year before last, half of it just died and the other half had dwarfed flowers. Last year the other half just died!! No idea what happened to it, except that I really miss it's beautiful blooms! This is just a gorgeous shot and love the darker center and the little white pieces that pop out of the center!! Perfect details and lighting! FAV!
