Bletcherous by mcsiegle

Bletcherous

For the Mad Minute Word -- bletcherous, meaning pertaining to something poorly or disgustingly designed, esthetically unappealing.

This is the faucet on the old clawfoot tub in our upstairs bathroom. Clearly not original to the tub, it is so bletcherous and not useful (try to wash your hair under that! NOT) that I rarely have used that tub, and not at all in a bunch of years. It's also rusty with the porcelain chipped around the drain at the bottom of the tub below -- was when we moved in.

What is a pity is that, because this faucet is so bletcherous, I have let the only part of this I do like (the round original overflow drain) get all rusty and icky and I'm not sure if I can now remedy that. I hope so, because Frank promised me that if we stayed in this house (there was some doubt for awhile) I could get a proper faucet, and I plan to, even though the tub is far from perfect.
Excellent interpretation of the word...

I love the word plastered over the top of it! Yes it does look rather bletcherous. I'm sure if it's cleaned up a bit it will look slightly better. Maybe just 'bletch'.

Great choice. It looks like a face!

A worthy candidate for the Mad Minute Word, would have been fascinating to see if the original designer had any idea of how their faucets would end up.

@simonpz This type of faucet may have some practical use somewhere, but not on this tub. It produces a certain nostalgia for Frank who says his grandmother's tub had a stubby little thing like this. Yuck!

@riverlandphotos I hadn't notice the resemblance to a face. Looks a little like the robot in Short Circuit!
