If Your Rat Comes In Second

The other morning I was in the living room and started fiddling around with the camera and the light reflected off the book sitting on the tray table in front of me. One thing led to another and I decided the blank TV in the background would be more interesting and provide a better reflection if it was turned on.

The program that was on was "The Price Is Right" which I have not seen for years and years. I really have no interest in watching. But it was bright and colorful and ridiculous in an iconic way. So I left it on and tried to capture some of the most exciting and/or stereotypical moments -- "Come on down, you're the next contestant..." etc. Since lately I've had to take OFF my glasses to get the best view of the camera display up close, I laid my glasses down on the book and then decided I wanted them in the picture.

Well, this is the result. I just couldn't resist this one with the woman showing off the car and the great line appearing in the closed captions "If your rat comes in second you'll win a year's supply of groceries." (Actually, the woman's pink rat (wind-up, not real) came in first in the rat race and she won the NEW CAR pictured here.

I'm not sure if the double mirrored frame I've given it enhances or detracts. But I thought it needed something and am thinking that I like it. What the heck, right? Opinions welcomed (on the frame or any other aspect of the image).
This is Super Interesting! I think the 'closed captioing' really makes the shot... 'rat race' ;) Hard to say if the frame makes or breaks witout seeing it without the frame... but I think it looks interesting with!

This is such a COOL pic, Mary! I think the framing you did added to the "tunnel view" and was a great idea. That "Rat" part..and the girl showing the car..wow. Superb!

@lisatown Thanks Lisa. Sorry for the delay in reply. Good point -- without seeing it without the frame it's hard to know. So now I've posted the one without frame in my Alternates album: http://365project.org/mcsiegle/alternates/2014-07-17
I agree about the closed captioning. Our son is deaf so we always have that turned on out of habit, even when he's not visiting. If that wasn't on the screen it would just be a picture of woman showing a car -- no funny reference to rat at all.

@ziggy77 @espyetta Thanks Jo and MaryBeth. And thanks, MaryBeth for the opinion on the frame. If you want to see it without, see above.
