Noooooooooo! by mcsiegle

Noooooooooo!

Oh, no! Ack! Who threw Amanda, Kim, Jack, and Jim into the cauldron?

Another experiment in forced perspective for my get pushed challenge given me by Tari @sitiodown When I gave her the challenge of making a picture using forced perspective, she gave the same challenge right back to me, as it's something I've really never done much with.

I liked this idea, but didn't have time to play with it until it looked right. Our walk in the woods and leisurely chat sitting in the fire circle was about to come to an end because other friends were ready to take off for home and we needed to get back up the hill to bid them goodbye.

If I ever try this again (maybe this summer) I'll get the person or persons closer so it looks more proportionately correct. In this shot, they'd have to be standing on some large thing inside of the cauldron. Their feet wouldn't be touching the bottom.

Also, I didn't get the cauldron and the people in focus to the same degree, so I artificially blurred the background more and haven't done a masterful job. Still, this was fun.

My other experiments with forced perspective:

@sitiodown And a third photo for the challenge. As I said above, I may try this again sometime and take more time to get it right. It was fun, though. Thanks.

@susanalena @monty147 @seattlite @sueb47 @sioux @mothermalarky @eileenw Thank you so much. I'm pleased you get a kick out of it. @sueb47 I hadn't thought of that movie in years. I think the title is "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids." A fun one.

@sitiodown Thanks, Tari, for throwing the challenge back at me. I've been wanting to experiment with it for a while but never getting around to it. Definitely plan to try again, particularly this set up. If I do and get something worth posting, I'll try to remember to tag you.

I tried to comment on your other ones too, but had really slow internet connection earlier. I see it's better now .You did a good job on all 3 ~ it was a fun challenge ~ I'll be trying it again too, when I have people to help, and SF should provide some good opportunities when I get back there. :) I'll try to remember to tag you, as well.

Hi Mary. Apologies for the delay in issuing you a challenge. I'm not sure if you've done one of these before but I'd like to see you take a 'down low' or 'bugs eye view' shot. Alternatively, take 'a birds eye view' if you prefer. I'll leave the choice up to you.

@dtigani Thanks, David. Not sure if I'll go high or low, but I'll see what I can come up with.
