Corner in Morning Light by mcsiegle

Corner in Morning Light

Joan Robillard @joansmor has given me this get pushed challenge: "...take a photograph in natural light but...use the light to advantage."

This was taken with the iPod shortly after I woke up this morning. First I noticed the light shining through a couple of glass things dangling from the rod above the window (out of frame in this picture -- but they were the first things I noticed. Then my attention turned to the light falling on the upper shelf and wall.

I took some photos yesterday of a tiny bit of meadow on campus that had some nice spots of sun falling on it. But I wasn't satisfied with the pictures. This morning I was late so...not only no time to stop for photos, but I think I just missed the best light. Here's hoping I get going early enough tomorrow morning and it's not all overcast and icky.
@joansmor another response to the challenge you gave me.

I have those mornings too- the first thing I see is the sunlight coming through the windows. It's always such a good start to the day!

Something very classic and comforting about this shot.

Nice shot because you see an almost wash out where the sun hits the end of the shelf but the front edge is crisp. The items below have not yet had full light so they are not as crisp,
