I deliberately included the pole -- chose to use the POV that showed it. I cropped some off to the right of it, but left the pole. For some odd reason I like intrusive verticals like pole or tree in the foreground of some shots, dividing the space. But that could be just my taste. I know it's not classically good composition and, as I said, it's really helpful to know if it works for others or is just a distraction or whatever.
@mcsiegle I hesitated to mention it but wondered if you saw it or not. sometimes our eyes automatically eliminate what the camera always sees . In the end it is all about your preference as it is your photo. Thanks for your explanation
