Great shot. I like this shot for several reasons: the composition, the reflections, the abstractness of the reflections, and the questions I have about the human subject (upset? concentrating? listening to music? etc.).
@grammyn@daisymiller@joemuli@randystreat Thank you for the comments. Daisy and Kathy, your questions and potential interpretations are so interesting. It didn’t occur to me to see that in the image. The student was hunched over her book concentrating, I assume, on her studies. (Of course I can’t know what was in her mind.) So it’s interesting to see what the photo says to others.
Intersting shot with a story to tell. As I have read the comments I realize that the stories are in our heads... I thougt it was a young man and of lonelyness. The picture of Frida Kahlo makes it even more interesting.
@grammyn It was the light that attracted me as I walked that way to go downstairs for the mail. When I saw there was a person sitting there -- a potential extra -- I quickly got the mail, went down the hall on the lower floor, up on the stairs on the opposite end and into my office for the iPod. The student was so absorbed in the book she didn't notice me come part of the way back toward that end and take a few pictures.
