Overcast Afternoon in Manhattan

My get pushed challenge from Frogger @tdaug80 was to back offfrom the close shots I’ve been posting lately and take a landscape or other large subject. I went out on a couple of errands and decided to take a couple of shots of the streetscape in the drizzle, just to get going on the challenge. Neither were very interesting, but when I applied and then faded a sepia effect, I kind of liked the way this looked. This makes Manhattan look much more like a little town than what it actually is — not huge, but a small university city.

After this I went downtown to get another streetscape, but the battery died before I could do that.
@tdaug80 Here’s a streetscape for you, though I hope to get something with at least a little more artistic merit before the week is through.

@mcsiegle It's a good start. The dreary mood comes through well with the sepia coloring. Have you ever tried the magic removal tools in photo editing software to take the distracting signs out? They really do work like magic.

@tdaug80 Thanks. I have never used that type of tool. The sign in the foreground, though, I actually kinda like. I’m weird.

@mcsiegle In that case, you should keep it. This is your creation.

Nice editing to create your small town effect

I like the processing you chose. The road leads my eyes to the bright lights of the cars in the distance on the left.
