Oh, heavens!

Dang! I squandered the last of the iPod charge downtown taking this dumb shot — an attempt to show that the ‘51 flood line was above my head. (I’m only 5’1” so I’m not sure how impressive that is.) I rode out that flood, safely inside my mother — who wasn’t living in a flooded portion of the city, so I was actually high and (hmm...dry? NOT)

I’ll have to go back downtown if I want the streetscape I had intended to take.

It's obvious that the line was higher than the person (I now know is you) in the photo. Whoo! You would have needed to find higher ground in 1951(if you were even born yet).

Woah! That's some serious flooding!! We had a three foot flood line down in the village where I live and the local ice cream stand (which has been here forever) lost everything. Thankfully they restored their business, but they painted waves along the sides to mark the height of the water.

I really like this pic, and I think the frame matches perfectly with it!
