Peace, Love, and the Power of Nine

My get pushed partner, Sally @salza asked me to play with the rule of odds. I looked up at this wonderful display of metal baskets and noticed there were nine of them. Nine is one of my favorite numbers -- three times three. 27 is even better -- three to the power of three. But I digress. The baskets were on the wall of a shop downtown that sells a variety of fair trade certified goods. I had never been into the shop and decided to stop in and look around. I actually was starting to take the picture just so I could remember the baskets. I have a couple of friends for whom they would make nice gifts. As I said, I noticed there were nine of them and remembered my challenge.
@salza I chanced upon this display of nine baskets.

These are really attractive. Nice use for rule of odds.

You challenge this week is to take an indoor still life using silverware ... knives, forks, spoons or any combination ... have a play with various arrangements, reflections, shadows, different perspectives...whatever appeals to you so long as the utensils are the subject of the photograph. If you would prefer a different challenge, just let me know.

Awesome baskets! I think I would try and clone out the price tags. It would be quite simple except for possibly the one in the middle on the top row. I’m going to challenge you to do that Mary! (;

All are the same but different.

@grammyn Katy, I really am going to take you up on your challenge to clone the tags out. I just haven’t had (or made) the time to do it. I know it’s not hard (except for that one tag) if I do it on the computer, but I seem to be looking at 365 on the iPod more, and it’s not as easy there. I’ll tag you when I finally do it. I totally agree that it would be nicer without them.

@aecasey I may have to give you a rain check on the challenge. I just haven’t made the time to play with the forks and spoons. It’s movie night tonight. Frank and I take turns choosing the DVD or video to watch on Sunday evenings. If by so chance I do take and post a photo after the movie and before midnight, you’ll be the first to know (well, actually, maybe not. But you’ll be the first (and only) person I tag!
