Three different Dove chocolate wrappers, in the space of a couple of days, told me to "Book the flight." The first two were one right after another. What could I do in the face of such persistent urging? When I got the "Today is your day" wrapper, there was no option left but to book the darn flight(s). In April Frank and I are going to Ireland. I am super excited. The only place overseas we have ever gone is Wales in 2002 with the North American Welsh Choir. It was wonderful, but I've longed to go someplace on our own agenda (someday, back to Wales!) This time we are not constrained by a rehearsal and performance schedule, and the need to be back on the bus in 20 minutes etc etc. Our passports expired seven years ago. That's next on our list of things to do. In the meantime, lots of plannning, booking lodging, etc in Belfast, Dublin, and Carlow. Genealogical research in Belfast (among other things). More archive delving at the National Library and lots of other interesting stuff in Dublin. The Pan Celtic Festival in Carlow will be the highlight of the trip for Frank.
