Francoise @francoise gave me the get pushed challenge of “a shot of a room or some furniture or the like that could appear in a magazine.“ I suppose I should have taken the easier route of photographing a room that is somewhere other than in my house. Nothing has been magazine worthy there. Well, with the end of the week at hand, and a Christmas tree we’d bought yesterday, I finally got one little piece of my house clear enough to photograph. I made a total mess of the dining room and living room doing it, but hey!
@mcsiegle this is wonderful. The piano, the wonderful woodwork on the windows, the beautifully balanced but contrasting indoor and outdoor lighting. My sincere apologies fir inadvertently causing anxiety. My own house would be an advertisement for decluttering... or perhaps the "before" picture for a cleaning outfit...
@kali66@grammyn@seattlite@francoise@la_photographic@ziggy77@swchappell@maggiemae@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you all for the comments. Francoise, no worries. It was a good challenge — the house was a cluttered mess anyway. Now one room is presentable, and I’m making progress in the living room and dining room. Most of the ornaments are on the tree or otherwise placed artfully rather than filling the table. Do you think my Mrs Butterworth bottle Advent wreath would spark a trend among the magazine readers?
@randystreat No Dutch ancestry that I know of. I forget where I got the wooden shoe — rummage sale I would guess. Perhaps I should have had straw and a carrot in it, but I think Sinterklaas’ horse might like the apples, don’t you?
I love the warmth of your room. That piano took me back to my earliest piano lessons.
Thank you for the challenge. I will see what I can put together.
For your challenge how about photographing a Christmas cityscape or Christmas scene from your town. If that doesn't work, just let me know and I'll set another challenge.
Hi Mary. We are get-pushed partners for next week. Would you like to try an abstract? If you hurry, you can get it into the abstract-27 competition that ends Wednesday.
Thank you for the challenge. I will see what I can put together.
