Where Flowers Bloom by mcsiegle

Where Flowers Bloom

My get pushed partner, Lisa @homeschoolmom gave me the challenge of doing a flat lay with flowers. Since I have no real flowers blooming right now, I resorted to artificial ones. The composition I ended up with is rather uninspired. Lisa provided a link to some lovely examples -- all on white background. I just couldn't face dealing with shadows, so I copped out and used a black background. I decided to use my camera, but ended up using the automatic setting on it. I really, really need to get it out and take pictures with it so I get to where I know how to use it. At one point I got out the iPhone to see what happened and, yeah, much worse than the camera. If I wouldn't wait until the evening, when the light is poor... Processing in Ribbet helped. I like the quote I found.
@homeschoolmom Lisa, I wish I could give you something really inspired. Someday in the future (when I have natural blossoms to use) I may revisit this exercise.

Beautiful message Mary and creative processing. Thanks for the follow and I look forward to seeing your project continue. :)

I like the idea a lot. A creative shot. Perhaps if the background was white instead of black it would look a bit more optimistic. I think that's what I like the least about this.

I had to use dried flowers when I did it last week. I like it.

Love the flatlay and the quote is so perfect for now.
